College Says Name of Donor Who Is Accused of Stealing Won't Appear on Building
Alberto W. Vilar, the financier and philanthropist who was charged in June with defrauding an investor, will have his name taken off a building on his alma mater's campus ... sort of.
Officials at Washington and Jefferson College, in Pennsylvania, say that the technology building was never officially inscribed with the name of Mr. Vilar, who had pledged $18-million for it, but that it has been referred to verbally and in printed materials as the "Vilar Technology Center" since
