College Reveals Students' Social Security Numbers
A computer glitch at Floyd College briefly made the Social Security numbers of 125 continuing-education students available on the Internet last month.
The Georgia institution had just installed a new search engine on its Web site when officials there were alerted that the engine could pull up a page that lists students' Social Security numbers in addition to their names, addresses, and telephone numbers.
