College Returns $2.1-Million in Grants
William Jewell College has returned grants totaling more than $2.1-million from two foundations. The reimbursements were made after an internal audit of the college's fund-raising operations revealed an undisclosed number of cases in which donors' intentions had not been met.
The Missouri institution returned $1.4-million to the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, of Tulsa, Okla., and $750,000 to the Kresge Foundation, of Troy, Mich., late last year.
