The governing board of Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College has decided to retain the college’s interim president, Robert H. Sisk, despite his arrest on criminal charges that relate to his previous post as a college chief, The Charleston Gazette reports.
Mr. Sisk, interim president of the college since July, was arrested on Monday and charged with deleting computer files and petit larceny during his tenure as director of the South Branch Career and Technical Center, also located in West Virginia. A recent audit at South Branch found improper personal payments and missing receipts in the director’s office. The state police allege that Mr. Sisk and two other former employees altered or deleted computer data, and that Mr. Sisk removed a hard drive from a computer.
But the chairwoman of Eastern’s Board of Governors, Peggy C. Hawse, told the Charleston newspaper on Tuesday that Mr. Sisk would keep his interim position, in which she said he had performed ably.
“I have full confidence the facts will come out,” she said of the criminal case. —Paul Fain
