Birmingham-Southern College’s president said today that its students, faculty, and staff would help rebuild the nine rural churches that were damaged or destroyed in arson fires set last month by two Birmingham-Southern students and a University of Alabama at Birmingham student (The Chronicle, March 8). In a written statement, the president, G. David Pollick, said he spoke for everyone on his campus in pledging “to aid in the rebuilding of these lost churches through our resources and our labor.” He also said the two Birmingham-Southern students had been suspended and banned from the campus.
