St. Andrews Presbyterian College, a beleaguered institution in North Carolina, has persuaded a federal judge to issue an order that prevents a regional accreditor from yanking the college’s accreditation — for now, at least, according to the Associated Press. The college lost its accreditation in a vote in June by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, known as SACS. After the college lost an appeal to SACS last week, it sued to block withdrawal of accreditation. The judge granted the college’s request for an injunction that will preserve its accreditation while the lawsuit is heard. —Andrew Mytelka
