College Group Devises New Way to Pay for Retirees' Health-Care Costs
A new consortium of colleges has unveiled a novel plan for paying retirees' health-care costs, a rapidly growing expense for institutions.
The Emeriti Consortium for Retirement Health Solutions, a nonprofit company based in Illinois, said it had developed a national "turnkey" plan that combines tax advantages, portability, and access to group medical insurance for retirees who might otherwise not be able to obtain adequate health-care coverage.
