College Board's New 8th-Grade Exam to Start Next Year
Manufacturers of No. 2 pencils, rejoice. Students will soon have yet another test on which to fill in bubbles.
The College Board announced plans on Wednesday to roll out a standardized examination for eighth graders in the fall of 2009. Called ReadiStep, the two-hour, multiple-choice test will have three sections—reading, writing, and mathematics. Gaston Caperton, the College Board's president, said the exam would help educators "take early measures" to help students succeed
