A Kentucky jury on Thursday rejected arguments by a former football player at the University of Louisville that his coach had promised him a scholarship and then reneged on the offer, The Courier-Journal, a local newspaper, reported this morning. The player said the coach had told him a scholarship would await him in his sophomore year if he could pay his own way as a freshman. The coach said there had been no such promise, and the jury believed him.
