Clinton's New Science Adviser Says Information-Technology Research Is a Priority
President Clinton's new top adviser for science and technology said last week that spending more on research would have a great payoff for the nation.
"I think that we're underutilizing the intellectual resources of the country," Neal F. Lane said at his first press briefing in the job.
But given the President's commitment to balanced budgets, Mr. Lane added, "we just have to be smarter" in spending
