Claws in Her Contract: Former Student Sues NYU Over Bobcat Emblem
With colleges routinely paying in the five figures for sports logos, New York University got a bargain two years ago when an $8-an-hour student employee designed its new bobcat emblem. Now Ariel Fleurimond, who graduated in 2009, claims in a copyright-infringement lawsuit that she was not compensated for her feline design—either a cougar or a bobcat, depending on whom you ask.
