Classicists Must Challenge 'Conservative Biases'

Classicists are crying foul at the widespread perception of a stark opposition between social change and the teaching of classical texts revealed by the recent UCLA Higher Education Research Institute faculty survey ("Social Change Tops Classic Books in Professors' Teaching Priorities," The Chronicle online, March 5).
