Clark Atlanta U. Wins Court Battle

Clark Atlanta University has the authority to shut down its engineering department to help deal with a budget crisis, the Supreme Court of Georgia ruled last week.

The ruling came in connection with a lawsuit in which the engineering department's faculty members and students sued the university to block the department's closure. In unanimously upholding a lower court's decision to dismiss the lawsuit, the Supreme Court said that the correct response for the students and faculty members
