Citing Time Constraints, Rensselaer's President Quits 2 Corporate Boards
Even superwomen have their limits.
Shirley Ann Jackson, president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, recently resigned from two of the corporate boards on which she served, in order to better meet demands on her time.
Ms. Jackson was the highest-paid college president in the country during the 2002 fiscal year, the most recent for which data are available, with compensation of $891,400. She also earned as much as $591,000 for serving on the boards of eight companies. She later
