Chinese Professor Fired for Plagiarism
In a sign that Chinese universities are beginning to deal with the serious problem of academic copying, Peking University has dismissed a professor accused of extensive plagiarism.
The rare move, which was publicized in the state-run news media, comes as government and university officials are showing a stronger interest in tackling a problem that many professors and university administrators say is worsening.
