Chinese Ministry Wants More English Used
China's Ministry of Education has ordered some universities and colleges to start lecturing in English and teaching with English-language textbooks, according to Chinese newspapers.
Within three years, the Education Ministry says that 11 million Chinese university students will use textbooks written in English and as many as 10 percent of university courses will be taught in English, said the People's Daily, a newspaper that is closely tied to the Chinese government.
