Chinese Court Convicts U.S. Scholar
The scholar Li Shaomin, a naturalized U.S. citizen, was convicted of spying for Taiwan by a Chinese court this month and was ordered to be deported.
The decision may be a hopeful sign for three other scholars with American ties who have been detained in China. Their arrests have left many American scholars worried about their ability to work in China.
