China to Get First Undergraduate Women's-Studies Program
China Women's University announced this month that it would open the country's first undergraduate program in women's studies this fall.
Chen Fang, director of the new department of women's studies, said the decision marked a step forward in education in gender equality.
"It shows that the Chinese education system has recognized women's studies," she said, "and that people will be specially trained at the undergraduate level to do gender analysis."
