China Cancels Democracy Conference
China canceled, on a few days' notice, an international conference on constitutionalism and political democratization that was to have been sponsored by Chinese and American universities.
A written statement issued by Fordham University, a sponsor of the conference with the China University of Political Science and Law, did not specify a reason for the cancellation but hinted that it may have been linked to the coming anniversary of the bloody crackdown on student demonstrators in
