It is not only athletes' recruitment that will be adversely affected at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign if the trustees continue with their hard-line, anti-Native American stance (Sidelines, March 23). I recently applied for a faculty position at the university, but when I learned that it aggressively promotes the perpetuation of stereotypical representations of native people, I withdrew my application.
