Charges Over Internet Prescriptions Lead to Trustee's Resignation

A pharmacist who allegedly filled hundreds of illegal drug prescriptions online has resigned as chairman of the governing board of Hocking College, a community college in Ohio, the Associated Press reported.

The trustee, Steven Holtel, has been accused of supplying drugs to people across the nation who never saw the physicians who wrote their prescriptions. The state’s Board of Pharmacy intends to revoke his pharmacist’s license, the AP said.

Hocking College is also being investigated by the Ohio attorney general’s office over expensive travel by campus officials, including a trip to Belize. —Paul Fain
