Chancellor of East Carolina U. Resigns; New School U. Hires Anthropologist as Provost
SHORT STAY AT THE TOP: After two years as chancellor of East Carolina University, William V. Muse has unexpectedly announced his departure. He attributed his resignation to "significant health concerns" following heart-bypass surgery in the spring, but a recent audit report incriminating a former colleague has drawn speculation that it is related to the chancellor's exit.
