Celebration for a Founder
He wouldn't go so far as to fly a kite in a rainstorm, but Scott A. Van Arman, an associate professor of chemistry, did join the rest of Franklin & Marshall College last month in channeling the spirit of Benjamin Franklin. The professor conducted some of the founding father's scientific experiments for students as part of the college's birthday celebration for Franklin, who would have turned 300 on January 17.
