Cdigix Tells Colleges It Will Exit Music-Download Business Within 3 Months

Cdigix, established as a free music-download service for colleges, says it is getting out of the music business to concentrate on academic-technology services instead.

Rumors about the company's impending announcement spread quickly and took college administrators by surprise. The decision leaves some of them in the lurch, as Cdigix plans to shut down its music service by the end of April at most colleges, and may even shut down services for some institutions within the next
