The American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors has recommended that athletics-conference commissioners and basketball-tournament managers bar cheerleaders from performing particularly dangerous stunts for the rest of the season, according to a news release by the group. The recommendation follows a serious injury on Sunday to a cheerleader from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. The student fell 15 feet onto her head during a timeout at the Missouri Valley Conference’s men’s basketball championship game.
