Catholic Group Criticizes Professors
The Cardinal Newman Society, a conservative Roman Catholic organization, has called for the firing of 18 faculty members at several prominent Catholic institutions, saying the professors have promoted a "culture of death" by supporting physician-assisted suicide and the removal of a Florida woman's feeding tube. The professors and their colleges are identified in a fund-raising letter that the society mailed to 75,000 people in April and July.
