Case of Utah Valley U.'s Missing Papers Is Resolved

The mystery of the Utah Valley University student newspaper’s “stolen” issue has been solved, and censorship apparently was not involved, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.

The March 23 issue of the paper, the UVU Review, had been on campus racks for several days before all remaining issues suddenly went missing late last week. Staffers had speculated that someone might have trashed the papers in response to either of two potentially controversial editorial-page items. But two women who are not students came to the Review’s office today and said they had taken the papers for use in a youth-group project, the Tribune reported.

The university was preparing to begin a formal investigation of the incident when the women came forward. —Charles Huckabee
