Carnegie Mellon U. Plans Branch Campus in Qatar
Another American institution is heading to Qatar: Carnegie Mellon University announced last month that it would open a branch campus in the Persian Gulf nation to offer undergraduate study in computer science and business.
The program will enroll its first class of 50 undergraduates in the fall, most of them to be recruited from Qatar and the surrounding region. The initial group of faculty members will be sent from the university's main campus, in Pittsburgh, for terms of one to three
