Carnegie Gives Peek at New Classifications
Visitors to the Web site of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching can get an early peek at its several new classification schemes, which will expand on the single-scheme system that it has used to classify colleges and universities for the last 34 years.
The foundation said that the classifications, which may be viewed only by searching colleges' names, are strictly "not for publication" and are "subject to change." The foundation's Web site says it is making the new
