Carnegie Foundation Offers Community-Engagement Classification
Colleges and universities that have made community engagement a part of their missions can apply for recognition for their efforts from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
The foundation has developed a new elective classification that it says will give institutions a way to define themselves that goes beyond the national data that are typically collected. The new classification will only include those that choose to participate.
