Canadian Academics Jolted by Poll Results on Value of Degrees
By JENNIFER LEWINGTONCanadian universities have been taken aback by the results of a recent opinion poll in which the public rated community-college training or an apprenticeship as a better ticket to a job than a university degree.
In a survey of 1,000 Ontario residents in the spring, the Angus Reid Group, a private polling company, found that only 3 per cent of those questioned felt that a liberal-arts degree
