Canada Introduces Grants, Raises Loans

The Canadian government, in a pre-election budget that increases spending on higher education, is raising the ceiling on student loans and introducing its first grant programs for low-income students and those with disabilities. The new budget, parts of which take effect immediately, was released last month.
