Campus Radio Station Dumps Internet Broadcasts Because of Uncertainty Over Fees
A radio station in Washington State stopped transmitting its broadcasts on the Internet last month because of uncertainty over the size of the fees that it would have to pay to copyright holders.
KBCS-FM of Bellevue Community College continues to broadcast over the air. It is one of the few college stations to halt online transmissions of its programming because of the 1998 Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
