Campus Policing Falls Under Scrutiny After Clash at U. of California at Davis

A confrontation between the police and student protesters at the U. of California at Davis last Friday has prompted an examination of campus-police policies.
After a group of peaceful protesters were pepper-sprayed at close range at the University of California at Davis last Friday, one person in the crowd could be heard chanting, "Who do you serve? Who do you protect?"
Administrators and faculty members across higher education are asking the same questions just days after a campus police officer was captured on an amateur video spraying an orange mist onto a row of about 20 seated students.
