Cambridge Announces $1.8-Billion Campaign
The University of Cambridge announced last month the largest fund-raising drive ever undertaken by a British university, with a target of £1-billion, or $1.8-billion, by 2012.
The campaign, which will mark the university's 800th anniversary, in 2009, will help to "keep Cambridge University among that handful of truly outstanding universities in the world," said its vice chancellor, Alison Richard.
