Caltech Finds New President at Georgia Tech

The California Institute of Technology today named Jean-Lou Chameau, the provost at the Georgia Institute of Technology, as its next president. Mr. Chameau, who is 53, will succeed David Baltimore as president sometime before September 1, according to a Caltech news release. Mr. Baltimore, a Nobel laureate, announced last fall that he would remain on the Caltech faculty after he steps down (The Chronicle, October 4, 2005).
