California's Departing Governor Is Forced to Withdraw a Nomination
A seat on the California State University System's Board of Trustees proved to be easy come, easy go for a former president of a faculty union.
Last month departing Gov. Gray Davis drew fire from Cal State administrators for nominating Susan Meisenhelder to the board. Ms. Meisenhelder still sits on the California Faculty Association's bargaining team, and university officials saw that as a conflict of interest.
