California and Texas Are Home to Many Colleges With Large Numbers of Hispanic Students
Many, but not all, of these institutions meet the federal definition of a Hispanic-Serving Institution. The definition includes, among other criteria, that Hispanic students comprise 25 percent or more of undergraduate, full-time-equivalent enrollment. There are 293 such institutions in 17 states and Puerto Rico.
