California Universities Settle Lawsuit Over Energy Contract
The University of California and California State University have reached an agreement with Enron Energy Services that will ensure that the two mammoth higher-education systems will have access to low-cost electricity through 2004.
Under the agreement, which ends a federal lawsuit by the universities against the company, Enron not only will provide the electricity but will absorb some of the costs that the universities incurred in the course of the dispute.
