California Poet Laureate Admits to Lie on Résumé
An award-winning poet and professor at the University of California at San Diego who was named the state's poet laureate in June informed university officials in October that he had lied about having received a college degree. He never graduated, and when state officials confronted him with the discrepancy, he resigned from the poet-laureate post. University officials are reviewing their options and have not yet decided how to handle the situation.
