California Passes Anti-Censorship Bill

Public-college officials in California would be prohibited from censoring student publications under a bill that passed the State Senate in August.

The bill, which was approved by the State Assembly this past spring, now goes to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for his signature, but it was not immediately clear whether the Republican governor would sign the legislation.
