California Judge Allows Rapist to Play College Football Before Serving Sentence
A community college in California will let an athlete play on its football team this fall before he serves a six-month sentence for the statutory rape of a 15-year-old girl. Officials at the College of the Sequoias said they felt obliged to keep Jeffrey Engstrom on the team because a judge had decided to let Mr. Engstrom finish his degree before beginning his term.
