California Governor Endorses Referendum Supporting Stem-Cell Research
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California has thrown his support behind a statewide ballot measure that would raise $3-billion in state funds over 10 years for studies of embryonic stem cells at universities and hospitals. Supporters of the measure, including academic scientists, have eagerly sought his backing, saying it could help persuade voters.
