California Court Orders Community College to Reinstate Professor Fired in 2006
The San Diego Community College District must reinstate a tenured professor it fired in 2006, even though the professor had signed an agreement that allowed the district to dismiss him, the California Court of Appeal has ruled.
In a unanimous opinion issued late last month, a three-judge panel of court's San Diego district affirmed a trial court's ruling that the agreement the professor had signed was unenforceable because it violated his statutory due-process rights.
