California Ballot Initiative Would Provide $3-Billion for Stem-Cell Research
Fifty-eight members of the U.S. Senate have signed a letter to President Bush asking him to "expand" his current policy on federal funds for research on human embryonic stem cells.
The letter, which is nearly identical to one signed in April by 206 members of the House of Representatives, is conciliatory, praising the president for offering federal funds for research on some types of embryonic stem cells.
