Cal State U. Averts Faculty Strike
The California State University system has reached a tentative deal for the terms of a four-year contract with its faculty union, thus averting what might have been the largest job action in higher-education history.
The tentative agreement stands to end a nearly two-year standoff between the university system and the California Faculty Association, a union that represents the system's 24,000 professors, instructors, librarians, counselors, and coaches.
