Cal State System Hires Former Army Official

The California State University System is calling in the Army, as an energy crisis and a slowing economy put pressure on the state's higher-education budget.

Last month, Louis Caldera, a former U.S. secretary of the Army, was appointed vice chancellor for advancement of the 23-campus system, which enrolls 370,000 students.
