CUNY's Board Chairman Quits to Run for Mayor
Herman Badillo is abandoning his charge for academic reforms at the City University of New York to re-enter the political arena.
Mr. Badillo announced this month that he was resigning from the university's Board of Trustees, which he had led since June 1999, to vie for the Republican nomination in New York City's mayoral race.
Mr. Badillo, a lawyer and former U.S. congressman who has run for mayor three times before, will face off in the primary against Michael R. Bloomberg. Mr.
