'Buy American' Provisions in Stimulus Law Could Limit University Actions

As universities across the country anticipate their share of more than $21-billion in research money from the new economic-stimulus law, Carl Zeiss Inc. is trying to catch their attention.
The Germany-based optics company has sent out a flier to universities saying that the enactment of the law makes it an opportune moment to shop the company's product line, which includes state-of-the-art scientific microscopes.
