Bush's Pick for Running Mate Puts Lynne V. Cheney Back in the Spotlight

George W. Bush last week named Richard B. Cheney as his running mate, raising the possibility that Mr. Cheney's wife, Lynne V. Cheney, may again have a platform for her strong views on academe.
Mrs. Cheney, an outspoken critic of political correctness, headed the National Endowment for the Humanities from 1986 to 1993, when the culture wars were at their peak. Her supporters praise her for having pushed for higher standards for
